Recipe by Dragon
I have yet to serve this dish to anyone who doesn't ask me for the recipe. I love the blend of flavours and it is really simple and quick to prepare. A great weeknight dinner!
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
1 18 0z package of Potato Gnocchi
3 smoked pork sausages (turkey sausage works great too), sliced
1/4 cup of chopped onions
1 clove of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of butter
pinch of hot pepper flakes
1/2 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves
1/2 tablespoon of fresh oregano, chopped
1 cup of frozen peas, run under water to thaw (optional)
1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Prepare the gnocchi according to package instructions.
2. While the gnocchi is cooking, heat up a skillet with 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sausage and onions. Cook until sausage is browned and onions are soft.
3. On medium heat, add the garlic, hot pepper flakes, thyme and oregano. Cook for 1 minute or until the garlic is softened.
4. Drain the gnocchi, reserving a little of the cooking water. Add the gnocchi to the sausage mixture. Shake the skillet so the gnocchi doesn't stick. It is ok if the gnocchi browns a bit on the bottom.
5. Add the peas and remaining tablespoon of butter. Salt and pepper to taste. If needed, add a little of the cooking water to thin out the sauce.
6. Top with parmesan cheese. Let the cheese melt slightly before serving.

A hearty dish, perfect with yesterday's rain all day weather.
Lovely dish! Gnocchi, sausages. . .what more could you ask for?
Okay, seriously you are more of a potato ho than me! Looks amazing!
That looks both quick and tasty!
peter: Perfect rainy day food.
Js: Don't forget the cheese. :)
noble: Yes I am! There's one more coming later this week.
kevin: Yes and Yes!
Nice plating. I could use a bowl of this right about now.
I love Gnocchi, but it always comes with a heavy cream sauce. This is such a nice light version. My first visit to your site and I will be around again soon to check out all the lovely posts.
I've had iffy results with packaged gnocci and was always sad I couldn't make it at home - I'd love to know what kind you use.
This is soul food Dragon. It's pretty hard to find a dish that both my hubby and I would consider oh so good giving we have totally different tastes but this recipe definitely has the maximum potential for that!
Thanks for sending it my way :)
Looks so tasty! I've got the herbs growing in pots. I will make this dish soon.
I love gnocchi and buy it fresh from someone at the farmers market. This dish looks great and I love the combination of flavors. Leftovers for breakfast are good also.
I made this for dinner last night, it was a big hit with the family, will definitely make this again!
