Cinnamon Palmiers

Cinnamon Palmiers
Recipe by Dragon

Makes 24 cookies

In honour of Valentine's day, I made a batch of these heart shaped palmiers. They are so simple to make and they are perfect with a cup of espresso. Share them with all your Valentines. As for me, well I like my Valentines like I like my palmiers...buttery, sweet and with just a touch of spice. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 sheet of Puff Pastry, thawed but cold
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

Directions:
1.Preheat the oven to 400 F. Roll out the puff pastry until it is 10 inches by 10 inches.

2. Combine the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle half of the sugar over a clean surface. Place the pastry on the surface and sprinkle the remaining of the sugar on the pastry.

3. Using your fingers, roll one long side of the pastry to the middle. Not too loose or too tight. Roll the opposite side to the middle as well.

4. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into slices about a centimeter thick. Transfer the slices to a baking sheet. Press them down a little bit.

5. Bake in the oven for about 20 min or until golden. Turn baking sheet around 180 degrees after 10 minutes.

6. Transfer them to a rack to cool down.

What lovely palmiers. I've seen the Barefoot Contessa make them and I've been wanting to give them a try. Perhaps I'll just have to.

Happy Valentines Day.

You do tempt me so Paula. have thought of you all morning while making my AB in 5 loaf, thinking of how nice it was that we met over that stunning loaf with a sprig of rosemary!
I absolutely ♥ these palmiers ... Sigh, you know I still have to make puff pastry to get to them. Cinnamon palmiers are one of my faves!! YUM!!

See now, these would be perfect just by the virtue of the fact that they contain all that lovely cinnamon. But, they're pretty too! Love it, love it, love it.
