I thought it was awful too! I just used a bit of lemon juice. Sorry you didn&#39;t like these. I thought yours looked so pretty. I loved them. Next time, try the stuicky bun variation. I didn&#39;t use the lemon in my icing for those exact reasons-too Pledge-like. I used vanilla extract in one batch and maple flavoring in the second instead of lemon.
